5 world championships, 5 trophies, 14 monthsโฆ sort of. It actually took years. Itโs wild to think about what years of intense focus and dedication can give you. Iโve been lucky to train alongside these incredible coffee professionals these past few years. And while it might look like we won our trophies one after another, Iโve seen first-hand the hard work, sacrifices, and obsession behind each one. One tried for almost 10 years before finally reaching the worlds again โ showing relentless tenacity despite setbacks. Another balanced managing a big team while supporting a partnerโs world championship campaign, just weeks before competing themselves. A couple of them trained under the weight of their seniorsโ legacies and expectations, sleeping on training room floors to squeeze out every extra minute. And still, they exceeded what was expected of them. With the WCC 2025 season wrapping up next month, Iโm sharing this not to show off โ but to spark a fire. Success may look shiny, but itโs built on unseen struggle: failed run-throughs, tears on the morning of finals, missed flights while sourcing ingredients, the guilt of saying no to family moments, or even going straight from the airport after a win to help a teammate prepare. All done with no guarantee of success โ but done anyway. World Brewers Cup Championship 2025 2nd place @bayuprawiro ๐ฎ๐ฉ Congratulations on becoming the vice World Brewers Cup Champion 2025, sharing the personal story and beautiful correlations in coffee and photography. He created his blends using 70% our Gesha from @fincasophia, together with Gesha from @jansoncoffee and Sucawangi Excelsa by @commongroundsid ๐ซ Back in 2024 we started the collaboration with @ryanwibawa and he got us the 3rd place in Chicago. This year Ryan and @emifukahori stood with Bayu watching him shine up to the remarkable 2nd place in his home country Indonesia !! Bayu brings both hidden inner fire and sharp precision into cups he brews - each cup he brews showcases how he approaches thinking of his people and community, and we are so thankful to be a part of them. Over two decades ago, Eugene โDon Geneโ Altieri founded @altieri.coffee in Boquete, planting Geisha trees descended from the famed Peterson family of Hacienda La Esmeralda. Today, the family legacy lives on through Pipim and Mima Estates, managed by Don Geneโs children, Anna Lynn and Francisco, and farm manager Roger Pitti. The Alessa Lot, named after a grandchild, sits at 1,800 masl on the slopes of Mima Estates, near the Baru Volcano forest reserve. Here, rich volcanic soil and a cool, shaded microclimate nurture a Geisha of stunning clarity, floral aromatics, and vibrant sweetness. Altieri uses a unique river flow fermentation (RFF) method, where sealed coffee bags are submerged in diverted river water for five days. This creates an anaerobic environment with natural temperature shifts that boost sweetness and complexity. After fermentation, the coffee is dried for 30 days in a controlled room at 18ยฐC and 50% humidity, resulting in a cup thatโs clean, floral, and bursting with fruit.
