Sekitar awal tahun lalu, Lulla bilang, “Mama, Taylor Swift is coming to Singapore and I need to go to her Concert”. Respon pertama gue adalah “why?”😂, — clearly I didn’t (yet) understand how big of a SWIFTIE she is, I mean yeah she listens to it every day🤷🏻‍♀️. Semenjak hari itu, Lulla non-stop ngebujuk kita & ngomongin Tay Taaaaaay melulu😅. Akhirnya gue bilang, “kalo Lulla bener2 mau ke konser ini, mama akan usahakan, tapi Teteh jg harus ikut berusaha ya” Soalnya gue tau dapetin tu tiket bakalan ga gampang & ga murah, tapi bukan berarti dia ngga deserve it, gue cuma mau Lulla belajar “value” dari sebuah experience. If it was going to be her first concert, jadi gue bilang syaratnya gini 👉🏼👉🏼 1. Harus bener2 suka sama artistnya/ penyanyi, bukan cuma ikut2an 2. Beneran ngerti sama musiknya dan bisa sing-a-along sama lagu2nya, biar bener2 maksimal experience nya 3. Punya alasan positif kenapa nge-fans sama penyanyi/artist tersebut, ada kualitas apa di dia? Ngga cukup kalo cuma ganteng/cantik doang (I teach my kids to see the good quality in people, whether famous or not) The brief was simple, “Pitch to Mama & Bapak why you need to go to The Taylor Swift Concert” So then —with weeks of excitement & without any of our help — last year, on July 2023, she gave us a whole comprehensive presentation on why she LOVE Taylor Swift, and named it “The Admirable things I like about Taylor Swift” 💕 And man, did she delivered! She pointed the qualities of her idol, her values, her achievements and what she stands for. Lulla loves Poetry and one of the things that Taylor feels relatable to her is their common shared interest in writing poems. But not only Lulla nailed that presentation, there was so much sparkle and glimmer all around her. Anak gue, si Lulla bukan anak yg BM (banyak mau), dari kecil, anaknya emang beneran ngga banyak minta. Ga pernah tuh ada cerita masuk toko mainan ngerengek2 sampe nangis2 minta sesuatu (kalo Galan beda cerita😂). I don’t want her to grow up feeling “undeserving”, so we often ask her 👉🏼 “why did you not want anything from the store?”, “did you not like anything?” dan jawaban dia hampir selalu “I LIKE IT, BUT I DON’T NEED IT”. This sort of emotional intelligence, I don’t know how she got it😂, but it’s mind blowing to me considering her age. JADI, saat dia propose dengan serius pengen nonton konser Taylor Swift, dia bilang “Mama, I NEED TO GO TO TAYLOR SWIFT CONCERT”. Ada perasaan gimana gitu, karena ni anak jarang banget minta🥹. When this VIP package arrived, we wanted to surprise her. Time goes by so quick, she only gets to have ONE childhood, so I swear I’m gonna make a big deal out of every moments. Can’t believe that our first born is about to go to THE FIRST CONCERT OF HER DREAM. I have been very fortunate to be able to travel quite often alone, both for work and pleasure for the past year. Being a mother and wife is the best job I have ever experienced, but it isn’t my only role, I have other things that I equally enjoy. But none of this would be possible without a support system that I have been extremely blessed and privileged with. Shout out to every husbands out there who cheers on their wives, who isn’t afraid of their light and let them shine. And actually making sure that home and its logistics are safe while we fly around flocking our capes. And of course this feeling of “secure” makes coming home the best part of my solo travels❤️
